The "Full Pink Moon" as taken

Two of the full moon hikers at dusk!
See?! We were ready and waiting!
A handful of moms and kids turned out for the full moon walk on April 2. The weather cooperated with seasonable temps, no wind, and a clear path as we headed out from the boat landing at Thompson West End Park at around 7 pm. The kids had fun running up and down the trail, ensuring lots of good exercise for their moms! We threw sticks in streams, got giddy over pussywillows, and listened to the geese and the ice. The moon cooperatively rose just as the walk was finishing up about an hour later. It was a beautiful shade of pink! A few kids stayed late, playing in the dark in the sand and making lighthouses with their flashlights! It was a neat event, so if you missed it, watch for a repeat in the fall.
