This morning (Tuesday May 6th) a huge group of moms and kids gathered at Prentice Park for WAKO's Third Annual "Roll in the Mud Day". Some of the brave kids ran straight for the mud, but it took some longer to warm up to the idea of getting soaked :) The girls really got into it when they heard there was a "buried treasure" in the puddle ... even a mom got involved to make sure each child went home with a jewel. Most families brought lunches to enjoy at the picnic tables, and WAKO provided dirt cake (with gummi worms - perfect for the occasion!). Prentice Park is a perfect location for this event because of the fun playground equipment (appropriate for the littlest WAKOs), accessible picnic tables, and splashy mud! Everyone agreed the event was a success!
Benny and Ayden ran straight for the mud puddle!
But Benny quit when he got mud in his face :(
Lunch and dessert are always a favorite part of the event!
The Dugger's, Zak's, and Moravchik's really got into the idea of a treasure hunt! We buried "gems" in the mud for the kids to dig up and take home. Thankfully Sarah was there to make sure the loot was shared amogst all the treasure hunters :)
After a new change of clothes some of the kids headed towards the playground for some fun on the slides :)
I will add these pictures to WAKO's ongoing albums at Shutterfly ... use the username womenandkidsoutdoors@hotmail.com and the password eventphotos to view the albums, order pictures, or add some of your own photos of an event!
